as described here:
proton bridge and mailspring should play well together. unfortunately, on connecting my proton mail account using bridge as the local imap/smtp server, mailspring is looping through rounds of syncing which manifests as emails appearing and disappearing and a lot of cpu cycles being used.
i am running manjaro linux and the latest (as of today) versions of mailspring and proton bridge. the problem appeared when i updated to the latest version of mailspring.
i tried resetting the cache as described in the above mailspring webpage, to no avail. i have tried various workarounds described on the web over the last four or five years, to no avail. the one solution that seems to make the most sense, setting the “Custom Container Folder” has at least three different descriptions, none of which seem to work for me.
does anyone have a definitive solution to this problem? i am going to have to uninstall mailspring and find another linux client if i can figure out a way to fix this.
cheers - k
