The Problem
Often, I can’t find messages in the folder where I expect them to be. For example, if I search for a message I wrote, I expect to find it in the Sent folder. However, it often isn’t there. This is particularly the case when my message is part of a thread. I feel that entire threads are moved when I archive one of the messages in it, including the ones I sent.
Proposed Solution
Keeping threads together is a useful feature to maintain insight into an entire conversation, but it shouldn’t diminish the search functionality. Perhaps it would be beneficial to have a setting option to switch threading off.
In any case, sent messages should remain in the Sent folder, whether they belong to a thread or not.
