App-exclussive password services log out

Yahoo and icloud accounts started logging out, so I have to regenerate the app-exclussive password in their sites every time I restart.
This didn’t happen before, please help.

You shouldn’t need a new app password each time — the ones you generated are still valid on Yahoo’s and Apple’s side. What’s happening is that Mailspring saves the password but can’t read it back after a restart, so the account shows an authentication error and you reach for a fresh one. The password storage is the thing to fix, and it’s almost always the OS keychain / keyring rather than the providers.

If you’re on Linux, that’s the “Password Management Error” family: the keyring Mailspring stores its encryption key in (GNOME Keyring, KWallet, or the Secret Service portal for Flatpak) isn’t unlocked or reachable when Mailspring starts. "Password Management Error" on Linux — Mailspring Documentation has the fixes per desktop, including the sudo snap connect mailspring:password-manager-service command for the snap build; the .deb / .rpm packages are the most reliable if you keep having trouble. On any platform, update to the current 1.24.x release too — secret storage was rebuilt in 1.12.0 and has had several fixes since (most recently for KWallet in 1.24.1). Once it’s working, enter each app password one more time via Preferences > Accounts > Update Connection Settings… and it should stick.
