Hi,
When I get an invite in my mail and I click the button to download that invite it opens the native Mac email app where my calendar is and asks me where I’d like to add the event - which defaults to the Microsoft Exchange calendar that I use, I click OK and then nothing happens - so I can’t get an invite out of Mailspring into my calendar?
Apple said try you first as it may be a problem with Mailspring not the Mac app.

You don’t need to go through the .ics download at all. When an invitation arrives, Mailspring shows the event details at the top of the message with Accept / Maybe / Decline buttons. Clicking one sends your response to the organizer, and because the invite landed in your Exchange mailbox, Exchange itself puts the event on your Exchange calendar — it’ll show up in Calendar on your Mac (and your phone) the same way an invite accepted from Outlook would. That’s the path to use with an Exchange/Microsoft 365 account.
Downloading the .ics and opening it is only needed to add an event to a calendar that isn’t the mailbox the invite came to. Once you’ve handed that file to macOS Calendar, what happens next is between Calendar.app and the Exchange calendar you picked — Mailspring isn’t involved anymore, which is why I can’t do much about the “nothing happens” step. Using the buttons in the message sidesteps it entirely.
