When is calendar going to be ready and working? I am testing the preview version in the developer settings. It shows a blank calendar. Its like it is not syncing my Google calendar at all.
Hi,
I am looking at the calendar preview here. Unlike @dahauss, I can see my calendar subscriptions, but I can’t:
- Accept/Deny a calendar invitation (nothing happens on the calendar panel)
- Activate/De-activate a calendar subscription: on the left panel, I click on a calendar, the colored box disappears, but the calendar events are all there
Just like other people here, I am looking for a basic calendar support which consists in
- Be able to accept/tentatively accept/deny an appointment
- Schedule a meeting (aka send a calendar invitation to an email address)
- Have a bird’s eye view of my week
Thanks
Hello,
Thanks for the great email client in linux.
We need really a calendar that just works in linux environnement. Our company has taken the PRO version to support your effort, so please make the calendar works ASAP.
Regards
Is there a beta version I can use to help with tests?
Love mailspring and would like to adopt it for work, using calendar with CalDav integration.
The goal is to have appointments sync w/mobile, along with personal stuff fm gmail.
Hv some technical knowledge and could help dig errors on logs and debug stuff.
If that helps, would love to contribute.
All the best.
Almost forgot: using on elementary OS 5.1
Can we have a calendar support feature pleas. this is of utmost importance.
I have been comparing several Windows mail clients and so far I like Mailspring best, BUT, I need to be able to accept Google calendar invites at least and this doesn’t seem to work at present. I still need to go to the Gmail web client.
I’d be very happy to be a beta tester for this. Otherwise I will move on to the next client on my list. So far I have tried:
- Mailbird
- Pegasus Mail
- Postbox
- Thunderbird
- ClawsMail
- Spike
- Kiwi
- The Bat!
- Outlook
- and MailSpring
I have a couple of others to look at, I think currently MailSpring is my favourite but I do need the calendar integration.
Cheers
please keep posting your findings… i’m in the same boat wanting close integration between gmail and gcal… i’m a dev so i’m tempted to do the unthinkable and start my own project => https://github.com/Beej126/GmailZero
any update on this? would really be helpful to have a calendar feature on the stable build
I am willing to pay some money for this feature.
I’m looking for this feature too. The e-mail client is amazing, but without a calendar it is difficult to go forward using it.
Hello any new update yet? Thanks for all the work!
I’m following the topic since 2018 and I love the Mailspring!
Now I’m using free version but I’m ready even if I need to start paying for the feature…
Guys, please, let me know how I can assist you to implement this feature?
Du you know some programming? Feel free to jump on the feature, if you want.
As for me, I am trying to resolve the several bugs dir now, but hopefully the tone will come to pick a large feature again. Maybe this will be it.
It seems the best I can do is to order you pizza and coffee =))
I’m very happy to help you! I’m quite good developer (solutions architect at my company).
Probably I’m not as good as you, but… the stack I’m good in is js, (node.js, vuejs, typescript), ruby, php and python a little bit.
As far as I understand the main language used under hood of the app is C++. Am I right or…?
C++ is only used for the mailsync engine. The frontend is written in JavaScript with React. So that may fit your stack quite well. I would be happy to get some support with the further development of Mailspring.
I suggest you have a look at the frontend code of the calendar: Mailspring/app/internal_packages/main-calendar at master · Foundry376/Mailspring · GitHub
I am happy to give you a tour through the code if you want. However my overview is also limited.
How it is synced (which may be in the mailsync engine), I have – unfortunately – also no idea.
Hey @CodeMouse92,
Thanks so much for advancing this. I was able to open a calendar window by adding it to the menu. But the UI is bare with no place to add new calendars.
I am a senior NodeJS / React developer and happy to contribute to this.
- Right now it seems mailsync is the one doing the calendar sync (
run-calendar-sync
triggersmailsync-bridge
). Does mailsync support caldav? We are looking for integration into NextCloud. - Is there a UI to add new calendars (e.g. CalDav) ? Or is it by default geared towards GMail / MS365?
Thanks for answering these questions, they would help get to where we can start working.
As a NextCloud user, I support this request. I use MailSpring in Fedora 36 Silverblue.
Long time has passed - a calendar is still not in view. BUT - there are a few apps WITH a calendar available, so I continue using one of those
