Comcast is moving there email system to Yahoo. I have clicked all the buttons and see my comcast emails at Yahoo. I tried to create a new Mindspring account using the yahoo button and comcast info, that doesn’t work. How do I link to Comcast emails now with Yahoo?
Too answer my own question for anyone else who need this … Yahoo requires a separate password for “external connections.” Go the Yahoo security page, external connections, and generate password. IMPORTANT! In mailspring add account the Yahoo logo button DID NOT work for me. I had the use the imap button. imap.mail.yahoo.com smtp.mail.yahoo.com

For anyone else migrating from Comcast to Yahoo: the key steps are (1) generate a Yahoo app-specific password from your Yahoo Account Security settings — Yahoo requires this for IMAP access since they don’t allow direct password authentication for third-party apps, and (2) in Mailspring, use the manual IMAP/SMTP setup option rather than the Yahoo button, with imap.mail.yahoo.com (port 993, SSL) and smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 465, SSL). Use your full Comcast/Xfinity email address as the username and the app-specific password you generated.
