Description
I’m using a US keyboard and sometime writing in german. To do so I use the Compose-Key to write letters such as ü, ö. In mailspring there is a weird behavior were when the Compose-Key is pressed (Right-Ctrl in my case) I can start input the sequence (Right-CTRL → “ →o) but the time I have is super short and random sometimes and this makes it very frustrating to use. In no other software (e.g Firefox) this behavior happens

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Press Right-CTRL and try to do the sequence

More time to input the sequence (Right-CTRL → “ →o)
