I’d like to share some feedback on the Templates feature, specifically around sizing and organization.
1. Template editor window is too small
The template list + editor panel (Preferences → Templates) is cramped for anything beyond very short snippets. Editing or reviewing longer templates feels tight, and there’s no way to resize the panel to give more room to either the list or the editor.
2. No folder/category support for templates
As the template list grows, it becomes a long flat list with no way to group related templates. Folders or at least collapsible categories would make navigation much easier for anyone using templates as part of a structured workflow (e.g. sales/client pipelines).
3. “Insert Template” dropdown is too small
The quick-insert dropdown (triggered from the compose window) crams template names into a tiny fixed-width box. Longer template names wrap or get clipped, and the list feels cluttered when there are more than a few templates. A wider, resizable dropdown, or at least text that doesn’t wrap so aggressively, would help a lot.
Would love to see these addressed in a future update. Thanks for building Mailspring, it’s great, just needs a bit more breathing room!
