Description
This behavior affects my mailspring usage on MacOS. It’s probably an operator error on MacOS.; namely, I cannot create a new Mailspring window on Mac if there’s an existing Mailspring window already posted.
To Reproduce…
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Go to the Mailspring icon in the Mac dock.
- Click on the icon showing the Mailspring envelope in the dock. Wait for a Mailspring window appears.
- After a first window appears (whether a list view or a compose window), click again and again and again on the Mailspring icon. Either a left-click or right-click on the icon will show the same behavior.
- Wait for a new window appears. After one or two successes, only an existing window re-posts.
I cannot cause a new top-level window to appear.
Expected Behavior
I want to post multiple top-level windows, one for each click on the Mailspring icon. I can re-post only existing Mailspring windows.Screenshots
Setup
- OS and Version: macOS 15.3.2
- Installation Method: by dragging/dropping the dmg app file to the Applications folder.
- Mailspring Version: . 1.15.1
Additional Context
I’m sure it’s a simple misunderstanding or tweak, but the problem makes Mailspring unusable for me. I have to switch to gmail in order to create new Mailspring windows. Note: I can still choose the “Compose New Message” option from the icon list, and that works, but a simple click will NOT show a new Mailspring client window.
