Global menu not working when run under Wayland

Description

When running as a Wayland app, the global menu doesn’t work. It’s fine when running under Xwayland.

To Reproduce…

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Run Mailspring normally on a KDE Wayland system (I’m on Kubuntu) with a global menu widget, there is nothing in the global menu.
  2. Run it with the argument --ozone-platform=x11. The global menu is properly populated now.

Expected Behavior

The global menu to work correctly when Mailspring is run as a Wayland app as it does as an x11 app.

Setup

  • OS and Version: Kubuntu 25.10 or 26.04
    • Installation Method: .deb file
  • Mailspring Version: 1.22.0-b29ea0e6

Can confirm with KDE Plasma 6.7.3 on Solus.
