Hotkey shortcuts triggering while trying to type

Description

Trying to type a reply to an email, and hotkeys keep triggering. This becomes downright dangerous as I could do unintended things to the message I’m replying to.

To Reproduce…

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open an Email

  2. Click “reply”

  3. Start typing any letters that are also assigned to hotkeys

  4. Watch those commands execute instead of the letters being typed in the reply dialogue.

Expected Behavior

Letters appearing in the reply dialogue

Screenshots

Difficult to screenshot as it would just show a hot key being triggered.

Setup

Windows 11, installed via update from existing version. Version 1.20.0-58895290

I have the same issue on mac after updating to the latest release just now. Its made the app unusable as I’ve just lost 2 emails trying to reply.

This needs a patch pushed asap.

Fully agree. I had to revert to the last version and ignore the update prompt. You can find previous versions on their Github, as a workaround, for now. I just went back one version and it fixed the issue for me. Then definitely don’t update untill this has been addressed.

PC win 11: space bar not working, backspace key deletes reply email in progress. Hot keys triggered (my sloppy fingers?)

yes I just downloaded the previous release for mac and am back in business.

Everyone needs to avoid the update 1.20.0

As a workaround, you can open the email in a new window (hit the icon in the top right) and this doesn’t occur there.

I actually still had this issue as long as the application was active. Even on a different window.

Same issue here. Both on Fedora and Zorin.

How do you push something this broken to your users?

This does work but it’s annoying to have to do this for every reply.

The issue continues, and the new window trick doesn’t work for me :frowning:

This is the question I dislike the answers to.

I have this issue as well.

Cannot type spaces in the response. Pressing a space bar just scrolls the window.
