How much does Mailspring download upon linking a Gmail account?

Does Mailspring download everything in a Gmail account when it is first connected? I have 2.5 GB of email in my primary Gmail account, but I have limited space in my /home directory on the computer that I want to install Mailspring. I will not be able to use Mailspring if it is going to download all 10+ years and 2.5 GB of my Gmail data. Is there an option to download only a certain number of days, like only the last 30 days of emails?

At the moment, Mailspring automatically downloads the last 90 days of emails from All Mail.

There is an open feature request to allow changing this. Please consider voting for it: Mail storage settings (download number of days, all mail, etc.)

Thank you, 90 days is fine. I just didn’t want 12 years of data downloaded.

Does is also continuously remove data older than 90 days as time goes on, or does it remain and build over time?

As far as I know, it removes older data.
