There is a label category in the left side panel with a label icon but I do not see that icon/option in individual emails. I see the following icons/options: Archive, Spam, Trash, Star, Mark as Unread, Move to Folder, Snooze, Share. Seems like there should be a “Label” option there.

I don’t see that option, however, if you go into Preferences, and then Mail Rules, you can add a rule to apply a label, based on your existing labels.
Wasn’t looking at how to add a label. Was wanting to know how to add an existing email to a label category. Specifically the “Inportant” label that already existed.
Just drag it and drop it into that label category.
Thanks. It wasn’t allowing me to do that but after rebooting my computer and signing out/signing in, that allowed it to work.
