I’m looking for a lightweight mail client with a scalable GUI, and Mailspring would be perfect for me.
Unfortunately, version 1.16.0 doesn’t seem to work properly with macOS 26 Tahoe.
macOS text replacements and Keyboard Maestro cause the app to hang, and for example, I can’t delete drafts.
Quick question: Is Mailspring still being actively developed, or should I keep looking?
Yes, absolutely! Mailspring is actively developed and macOS is a first-class platform. We shipped several releases in 2025 and 2026, including significant work on Wayland support, performance improvements, and bug fixes. The latest version is always available at getmailspring.com and via the built-in auto-updater.
