The Problem
When selecting more than one email in the inbox and pressing delete the selected emails are removed but the selection is also not reset to the next email. Pressing the down arrow restarts the selection from the first email in the entire inbox instead of near the ones you deleted.
Proposed Solution
When deleting one email the next most recent email is selected so you can continue on where you left off. In most email programs they will remember the most recent index of what you selected and restore the selection onto the next most recent email near the last selected index.

None really… this is a common pattern.

Every other email program I’ve used seems to implement this detail though I haven’t tried them all.
