I have forgotten my Mailspring ID. Very inconvenient when transferring to a new device.
Where can I find on my old device my Mailspring ID? I clicked on ‘forget your password’, and received the promising message that a password-reset email has been sent to my inbox. However, when I check my inbock, there is no such mail…
On the old device, open Preferences > Subscription - the email address of the Mailspring ID you’re signed in with is shown at the top of that tab. That address is your ID; there’s no separate username.
On the password reset: the site only says “a password reset email has been sent” if there really is a Mailspring ID under that address, so it did go out. Check spam/junk and any filters, and search for the subject “Reset your Mailspring ID Password.” If you’d tried an address that doesn’t have an ID, you’d have seen “No account with that email address was found” instead - which is a handy way to figure out which of your addresses the ID is under.
