- Mailspring has no option to disable auto update. Was reported 5 years ago and ignored.
- Now Mailspring requires minimal version of MacOS 12 (requiring new hardware) and update replaces the application and leaves in broken state.
I was a long time user but I don’t care about your arguments, have fun
Hey! Ahh sorry for the hassle, I’m afraid we don’t have the bandwidth to support older versions of macOS once Chromium drops support. Other Electron apps sometimes stay on old versions, but we need the latest security patches from Chromium and NodeJS since the app has access to your email. At one point auto-update was optional, but users on old versions reporting issues that had been already fixed was causing a lot of wasted time.
I believe you can configure your macOS hosts to block updates.getmailspring.com and you’ll be able to use the old version indefinitely, but I apologize for the hassle. Thanks for being a long time user!
