Mailspring not sending emails correctly

Description

When I send an email from the Mailspring app in Linux (Arch Linux, Gnome Desktop), I hear the woosh sound but the recipient isn’t receiving the email.
I have tried using my Gmail account (connected via IMAP) and my Outlook account (Connected via Outlook connection).
Furthermore, the email is in my GMail and Outlook Sent folders in their web apps.
I have also tried sending emails between the two accounts but still have the same issue.

To Reproduce…

Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Connect your Google account via IMAP or Outlook Account via the Outlook/Hotmail connection
  2. Sent an email
  3. Check if received
  4. Check if present in the Gmail web app sent folder or the Outlook web app sent folder.

Expected Behavior

Email to be sent and received by the recipient.

Additional Context

Please let me know if something else is needed as information on my end. I want to resolve this.

Update.

After removing the app password for the Gmail connection and reading it, everything works…
