Why can’t I turn sound notifications off? I turned them off in Preferences → General, uncheck “Play Sound when receiving new mail”… Closed MailSpring. Still did it. Rebooted computer, still plays a sound. And if that was the only problem… Remapping CTRL+Q does not work. I recently switched from (no)Outlook and thay key combo is crucial for us defectors. And this is an old bug, 2022 at least. Please fix.
But it’s a really nice app… I’m not asking a lot here lol

Hey @Funch1! Mailspring 1.18.0 has just been released and fixes the notification sound issue you reported. Sound notifications on Windows were playing regardless of the “Play Sound when receiving new mail” preference — this has been corrected (#2619). The app also obeys Windows “do-not-disturb” setting and will not play or show notifications if you are in quiet mode.
The Ctrl+Q keyboard shortcut issue is a separate matter that we’re tracking, I’ll see what we can do about that in a future release.
I do appreciate the response, and thank you for fixing the minor sound issue.
The CTRL+Q problem however is a major issue (for me). I exit the program 4-5 times a day…. I completely get that this may seem silly, but muscle memory is hard to retrain for us old people lol
Also, Mailspring did ask me if I wanted to update, but update.exe got blocked by Norton 360 and when I tried to exclude it I just got an error. Running the Mailspring installation after that, failed. After removing the data & application directory and rebooting, I was able to reinstall it. Not sure there’s much you can do about Norton being an a$$hat.
