Long time Mailspring lover, first time here requesting for assistance,
I have distro hopped to Fedora Silverblue 39 (Latest version with Gnome, December 2023), and after setting up the latest Mailspring - Version 1.13.1-59cb1b1d, I find that I need to enter the password | Edit > Preferences > Accounts > Update Connection Settings | every time I power up the computer.
Can you advise on how I can fix this issue please.

Hi Michael - this is a sandbox problem: inside the Flatpak, the 1.13 build couldn’t reliably reach the host’s GNOME Keyring, so the passwords it saved were unreadable on the next launch and you had to enter them again every boot. As of 1.24.0 the Flatpak build stores secrets through the Secret portal (org.freedesktop.portal.Secret) instead of trying to talk to the keyring directly, which is the proper mechanism for sandboxed apps on Silverblue. Update, re-enter each account’s password one last time via Preferences > Accounts > Update Connection Settings, and it should stick from then on.
If it still doesn’t persist after updating, check in Flatseal that Mailspring is allowed to use the Secret Service portal, or use the .rpm from Mailspring - The best free email app (on Silverblue that means layering it), which talks to the keyring directly.
