The Problem
In-line images cannot be magnified with the Mailspring email client. There is no pinch to zoom functionality, and the image cannot be double-tapped to open in another window for a detailed view.
Proposed Solution
In my mind, there are a few possible solutions. The most intuitive is zoom. The user should be able to place the mouse in the email window and zoom in/out with a trackpad gesture.
Alternative Solutions
The second option is how the MacOS Mail app handles it: tap to select the image, then press the space bar to open it in a separate preview window. All the normal touchpad functions are handled by preview. The third option is to double-tap the image to open it in a separate Mailspring window where it can be seen in actual size.
