I rolled back (on Windows), and everything works perfectly. I’m not sure whether Mailspring will auto-update each time I close it, and yes, I know the 1.17 update had improvements to security, but the reality is that 1.17.1 is unusable for me.
So, for the time being, I am willing to trade security for functionality until the Mailspring team has a chance to push a more stable update that fixes the breaking issues I’m experiencing.
Not sure what the problem is you are seeing after updating to 1.17.1?
I am having major edit problems, no delete or backspace?
Win 11, updated.
I checked my OS files for security and found nothing, Vscanned system, though I had a flag for “notepad”.
Perhaps a zeroday on core typing functions? mmmm.
Backspace and delete require several button pushes to activate same for the enter key. The move command freezes the machine. Those are the big ones. I noticed some others here and there, but I can’t tell if it was a local issue or something in the software. All I know is rolling back solved all of them for me on Windows. I haven’t updated my Mac or Linux for a while, so I’m not sure what kind of issues exist on those platforms.
Thanks for this. That helped me to fix the sync my 4 Outlook/Hotmail accounts. I didn’t had issues with my Gmail accounts. I’ll keep a copy of 1.16 and reinstalling it if it happens again, because it apparently force to 1.17 on my computer.
enter key when in compose takes multiple presses to register
when i remove an important flag on my gmail account, it stays showing as important but its removed in gmail online
it keeps freezing when im searching for emails (but i have 8 accounts setup so maybe thats why)
it keeps locking the database for other accounts so it keeps showing errors because 1 email account is HUGE and its resyning the whole inbox for no reason
