[Resolved] Authentication/connection issues with a Outlook email

I have a hotmail.com email address (Outlook.com account) that I’ve been using with Mailspring for a while. For the past few weeks, the account can’t sync and I keep needing to Reconnect and enter the password again (I’m using an App Password

After I re-enter the password, the email syncs fine and it’s working fine. But after a while, it stops syncing and connecting with the account and the only fix seems to be re-entering a password again.

I tried rebuilding the cache. Tried removing and then adding the account. Nothing helps.

No replies on this topic - but Mailspring did this three times this week so far with my hotmail.

Create a new app password and reconnect each time.

Hi folks, I believe this should be resolved now - Outlook was dropping support for username + password authentication, and part of their deprecation plan was to basically break username+password login over and over again.

You may need to remove + re-add your Outlook account, but the latest version of Mailspring will prompt you to sign in to Outlook on the web instead of using your password.
