The Problem

Usually in a mail conversation various subjects are mixed.

Replying in the classical way (all the conversation chain appended to the end of the email) gets confusing and is not of much use. Besides, creates huge and ugly emails.

Proposed Solution

Like other mail clients (example: geary):

  1. Select text.
  2. Hit reply (button or hotkey)
  3. Only the selected text is quoted, and the cursor appears below the quote.

Alternative Solutions

Hit reply, open the … button, remove clutter, divide in sections, reply inline.

… the same, but done manually.

I think this would be a great feature. In general, the quoted text is awkward to edit in Mailspring as the format tends to get messed up
