The application window does not appear

In Kubuntu 25.10 in versions > 1.7.0 the application window does not appear. Only the icon starts but the application window itself does not

you can change the startup options to use the following and it will work:

`--ozone-platform=x11` just make sure to quit the app before you try to open it again

Hey folks - Mailspring 1.17.4 has just been released with a fix for Wayland window activation (#2599). This should resolve the invisible window issue on Kubuntu 25.10 without needing the --ozone-platform=x11 workaround. Please try updating and let us know if the window now appears correctly.

This was a Wayland issue fixed in v1.17.4. If you’re on a current version and still seeing this, add --ozone-platform=x11 to your launcher arguments as a fallback. Also check your compositor/desktop environment version — some KDE/GNOME Wayland versions have known issues with Electron window activation.
