Installed Mailspring today and connected 8 of my email accounts to it, but will unfortunately have to uninstall. No way to sort inbox messages is a dealbreaker for me. Especially being unable to sort by sender, or by date, so now I’m seeing emails in reverse order. This appears to be a bug (or feature) that many people have asked about.
MainSpring is the only email client I’ve used that can’t sort the inbox, and it’s rather disappointing because everything else about the client (fast, simple, clean etc) is appealing.
I would gladly pay a monthly or annual subscription fee for this client, if it ever gets the ability to sort messages.
Hey James, I’m with you… about to bounce off Mailspring. What other clients do you use and recommend that offer this feature (Besides thunderbird, which I do use)
Hahaha, I just installed it because on BlueMail I have about 5,000 emails to sort through. Most are trash but BM do not have facility to sort by sender, size, date, flags, attachment, etc . . .
I cant believe this is Mailspring is exactly the same. I cant sort every message one by one. I need to be able to sort so I can delete, or move a page of emails at a time. This is a basic function of file management that we enjoyed 20 years ago. Why do companies like BlueMail and MailSpring focus on gimmicks like SNOOZE, TRACK EMAIL INTERACTION and MOVING MESSAGES INTO CONVERSATION GROUPS???
Both of these programs are not fit for purpose as you cannot manage your email messages without the traditional sort, move and rename tools
For anyone looking for a good email client try Thunderbird. It has a traditional layout so you can have full screen messages, instead of tiny keyhole fixed windows that some apps provide. Plus it has most of the email management tools like sort by . . . .
The only reason I did not continue with it is the changes I made to folders and message moves, did not seem to be reciprocated in BlueMail. Not sure if this syncing failure is the fault of Thunderbird or BlueMail though.
Next I am going to remove MailSpring from my PC and give " eM Client " a try !!
Wow, I just installed the free eM Client and the layout looks great. And it seems to have the essential features the other woke apps are lacking. Sadly it does not allow you to manually configure an account and it’s AI ". It is designed to use AI to figure out what your server is called, what the ports are, etc and despite failing every time it would not let me manually enter the settings. Eventually after over an hour I managed to change the settings through a back door, and now all is well.
In fact the interface looks beautiful with a nice title bar at the top so you just click on a column to sort by that field and click it again to change the direction of sort. WONDERFUL, well worth the hour of messing around eM Client | The Best Email Client for Windows and Mac RECOMMENDED !!
