New mail notification: Open directly by clicking on the notification

Hello everyone,

After testing several email clients (spark, Mailbird, eMclient, Blue Mail…) Mailspring is the best for me and what I need. Congratulations to the developers \o/

However, I have a problem that I can’t solve:

I’m using Mailspring on Windows 11 and when I get a Windows notification when new mail has arrived.
But when I click on the notification, Mailspring doesn’t open directly.
I have to click on the system tray icon to open Mailspring and read this new mail. ;’(

Is there something I haven’t set correctly ?

I have this issue as well. In fact this is the biggest reason why Mailspring still isn’t the main email client I use. It’s nearly perfect apart from some tiny but key issues like this.

Clicking on Email Notification Fails to Open Email in Mailspring on Windows

OS: Windows 11 Ver: Mailspring 1.13.1 Issue On Windows, when a new email notification appears and is clicked, the expected behavior is for Mailspring to open and display the corresponding email. However, currently clicking the notification does nothing other than dismissing the notification. This is honestly one of the very few cons about this app. Would be happy to go premium if this is solved.

still same problem persists. when I click on the notification on windows 11, it does not open the mail. did anybody find a solution?

Yeah it still is a problem in 1.16.0-5339a49f

This should be fixed in the 1.21.0 release thanks to an upstream fix in the Electron projct. Please download the latest version and let me know if you’re still running into issues!
