Mailspring not detected as default email app on windows

is there a way to make this app as a default email to documents can be sent thru it via adobe and ms word. The setting options are all changed to mailsprings but it does not work and by default ms outlook remains

Like the title says. I could have sworn I’d configured it as my default client, but it’s not there. Nor do I have the option to select it from a list of apps (only Windows store apps, because of course ). How can I fix this?

Unable to set Mailspring as default client

I have attempted to follow the instructions at Choose Mailspring as the Default Mail Client on Windows, but the Registry UAC prompt never appears, and Mailspring cannot be found in the default apps list. It’s not listed in the Clients section of the Registry either. Any ideas?

Mailspring not offered as choice on setting Win10 Email default app

Using the latest version on Mailspring. It is set in Preferences as Use as Default Email. I am then asked to go to the computer Settings/Default Apps. Email shows Mail icon. I click on Email and drop-downs list: Mail Chrome Edge Update.exe (Mailspring icon) Windows Store Is Update.exe correct or is Mailspring just not listed? Thanks

The last guy apparently had success but that was possibly on an older version where it worked.
